A jewellers exposition:

Melina is a second generation jeweller who began her journey at a young age- finding her passion for the craft, immersing herself and developing as a master of her craft. Her upbringing stimulated her, as her father’s workshop exposed her to the many facets of jewellery making, from: boxes filled with silver, tools and cupboards awaiting to be explored. As a conduit, Melina’s father showed her a world where she would later thrive.

Prestige meets Melina:

Melina’s journey was one of prestige, ingenuity and hard-work. She attended Sir John Cass Faculty of Art in London- undertaking a pre-apprenticeship course in diamond mounting and allied crafts. Melina was accepted to undertake an apprenticeship with Garrard the Crown Jeweller. On top of this achievement, she was the first female apprentice to accept this position within the company. She travelled across London, visiting a variety of hidden treasured workshops and studios- learning from craftsmen who specialised in a variety of areas. Melina’s enriching experience as an apprentice truly set the foundations for her professional career.

Melina: Organic forms and new art styles.

With a well sculptured repertoire of skill and knowledge, Melina started to go down her own path. She started producing the organic forms and object d’art, incorporating coloured enamels, unusual gems set within elaborate opulent pieces. Melina continues to develop and strengthen her skill- she is a collaborator and visionary.

Intuitive understanding

Melina has cultivated an intuitive understanding of the hemisphere around her. Utilising her expertise and craftsmanship, she has burst into her own world- filled with a plethora of explosive ideas, appealing to the connection of the natural world. She is client-focused and entering their space through a piece of art is what matters most to her. Melina recognises the importance of connection; with individuals, art, the natural world and ultimately- life. Her creative methods are based on intuition- what does that mean? In it’s purest form: she works from the heart- a creative flow enters her space and she collaborates with it. “In the end, creativity is a gift to the creator, not just a gift to the audience.” (Elizabeth Gilbert: The Big Magic)

I am deeply grateful for my beautiful ring and feel blessed to have taken the journey with you through the process of creating such a unique piece of jewellery. It feels sacred. Thank you so much Melina!
